Looking for a new Board of Directors Volunteer

The Carrot Cache is recruiting a new member for our volunteer Board of Directors. We are a non-profit organization that supports small projects in Ontario working toward a sustainable and just regional food system. Our areas of interest are: regional food economies, local organic agriculture, community food strategies and worker co-operatives. We support these projects by providing grants and loans and by investing in non-voting shares in worker co-ops.

We hope to engage thoughtful and committed individuals who are interested in joining our Board. While everyone is encouraged to apply we would especially like to hear from people who:

• Have experience working in community food projects

• Are members of a Racialized group(s)

• Are Indigenous

• Have experience as a farmer

• Have experience as a small food business entrepreneur

• Have previous board experience

The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, establishes policy, and oversees the operations and financial performance of the Carrot Cache. Board members commit to an average of 5 hours a month, must attend in person 2 day-long board meetings each year in Toronto, participate in strategic planning meetings in Toronto bi-annually, and provide guidance and support through committee work and other duties (mostly via email). Applicants from across the province are encouraged to apply. Terms are two years in length with the possibility of extension at the discretion of the board.

If you are interested in applying for our Board of Directors please send a copy of your resume and a cover letter outlining why you are a strong match for the position to kristin@carrotcache.com

The deadline for applications is August 14th 2017 at 5:00pm.

Interviews for the position will take place in September with the member joining the board in October.
